Apple’s First Foldable iPhone May

New Delhi, April 1, 2026: Tech giant Apple Inc. is reportedly preparing to launch its first-ever foldable iPhone, a move that could represent the most significant change in the device’s design history. According to recent reports, the upcoming model is expected to introduce a completely new form factor, setting it apart from previous generations of the iPhone.

The foldable iPhone is likely to feature a flexible inner display that unfolds into a larger screen, along with a secondary outer display for regular use. This design aims to combine the functionality of both a smartphone and a tablet in a single device. Apple is also said to be working on minimizing the visible crease on the foldable screen, a common issue seen in existing foldable smartphones.

Sources suggest that the device may be unveiled in 2026, possibly alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. However, its market release could be delayed by a few months after the initial announcement. The foldable iPhone is expected to run on Apple’s iOS platform, with potential enhancements to support multitasking features such as split-screen usage.

In terms of hardware, the device may include a side-mounted Touch ID sensor, replacing the Face ID system, along with a dual rear camera setup. Industry analysts predict that the foldable iPhone will be positioned as a premium product, with an estimated price of around $2,000.

Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone segment is seen as a strategic move to compete with rivals and expand its product ecosystem. If launched successfully, the device could play a key role in bringing foldable technology into the mainstream market.
